Before you begin to view these Tutorials, you will need to set your screen resolution to 1152 x 864 or even higher.  The Tutorials have all been recorded using a screen resolution of 1024 x 768 so you need to set your screen LARGER than that.

Follow this quick guide to set your screen resolution for maximum viewing experience.

Step1: Open your Start Menu and choose "Control Panel"
Step 2: Choose "Appearance and Themes"
Step 3: Choose "Change the screen resolution"
Step 4: Choose "Settings" from the top tab menu

Step 5: Choose an appropriate screen resolution from the sliding menu.  I recommend using 1152 x 864 or higher.

Click "Apply" to test the settings for your viewing.  If it is acceptable, click "OK" to accept the change.

Your screen resolution is now set.

If your screen resolution is already higher than 1024 x 768 you do NOT need to change your settings.  You will already have the optimal viewing size.

WHEN VIEWING VIDEO

TUTORIALS

You should be able to see the PLAYER CONTROLS in the bottom left corner of your video screen.  If you can NOT see these controls, you need to set your screen resolution HIGHER again.  Try using 1280 x 1024 or similar

Just another suggestion to make using this site easier, I do recommend using Mozilla Firefox as your browser. The site has lots of video content and Firefox handles it more easily than Internet Explorer, without making you jump through hoops of setting content permissions. blech...

Get it here: http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/

Will the video tutorials also display better with SeaMonkey, also a Mozilla browser (suite)?

I haven't actually used SeaMonkey yet, but the old Mozilla Suite works fine. Firfeox tends to be just a shade quicker and more streamlined (which is why they started the project) but I don't see why SeaMonkey would have an issue! Try it out and let me know how it works for you.

Hi:
I had Mozilla but one day it disappeared from my computer and all the bookmarked sites were gone!
There was never any explanation. I hesitate to install it now.
Is it reliable now?

The old Mozilla programs were not as streamlined as the new Firefox. I used to use Mozilla back when it was Composer! Firefox is awesome, it won't let you down. LOT's of improvements since the old days. Use it, you won't regret it.

I have a DSL connection, but a friend previously loaded Firefox onto my desktop. How do I use Firefox to access or download the minisites?

Just open it and start surfing - it's a browser like Internet Explorer so use it the same way. It will use any connection you have.

Hi David
After receiving regular (responder?) e-mails from you, for over a year now, and doing nothing about them; I received another this morning and decided to join, and explore things a little further. And, I must admit, take advantge of the FREE downloads offered for signing up for a bronze membership.

However, when I tried to do so, I kept receiving an "Error 404" message; and, I am not able to download the 5 free templates, or introductory bonuses!

I am totally lost. I have dialup and can't get any better due to my location. This causes a pause in any speech. It takes a long time to hear a recording even if it comes through at all. Is there anything I can do to change this for the better? I also can't understand where to reply in the Forum. Sorry to be such a dummy. kittie81

it is late, so I shall have to try the download / viewing tomorrow... trickle charge dial up is all we have here (until one can afford satellite) that is what we get for living in the wilderness where cougars, lynxes and bobcats cross tracks with the deer and us;; on the sideroads. I am caught somewhere between the ftp and the html processor... sort of like sleeping on the east face of mount Everest in a hammock slung on petons. smilies/wink.gif

Hi David
I am watching your tutorials but I am getting a lot of buffering and cannot follow them clearly. I have a laptop computer with a maximum resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels. I cannot see the control panel buttons at the bottom of the video tutorials screen. How can I remedy this?
Thanks

Well this is the first time I have had a tutorial on my computer. think I'll watch it again as My brain doesn't seem to understand all this new language very easily. Very keen to get something up on my website, hope to get started very soon. I am a Montessori pre-school teacher with self-help advice for not just parents but for us all, we are after all grown-up children.Inspired to do this for my lovely grandsons. Lots to learn.
bye for now

All rather daunting. But I think with a few runs through the videos I will start to get the hang of it. smilies/cheesy.gif

Will try a few bits and pieces to see how this all works out.

Be back later when I have a few more questions.
