Squeeze Pages, Squeeze Page Templates
Saturday, 29 August 2009

An effective squeeze page is one of the most effective weapons an internet marketer has in their arsenal. Although it's only a relatively simple page but selecting the correct squeeze page template can be the driving force behind your internet marketing business. Every IM guru you hear from is adamant "the money is in the list" and they are right. Building a highly responsive list is similar to having your own cash machine that can be tapped into when need be.

The sole focus of a squeeze page is to capture the name and address of a visitor to a page. To get started with building an effective squeeze page, you will need the following items:

- A domain name

- A web host

- An auto-responder service

- Something to offer your visitors

But What Makes a Good Squeeze Page ?

Constructing a high quality squeeze page that effectively turns visitors into subscribers is not something that comes easy. It takes a lot of experience and time to learn what techniques work best. The following are some guidelines to keep in mind:

1) An Eye Ball Grabbing Headline

On average, you have 6 to 9 seconds to entice someone to stay on your web page, let alone convince them to subscribe to a list. The headline will be the first thing a visitor will see upon entering your website so it needs to peak their interest. There are two methods you can use to do this:

a. Test, test and more test. This is a sure fire way to improve conversions.

b. Save headlines that capture your attention from other sites, newspapers, magazines or even junk mail.

2) Keep it Simple

This is an essential point to get right when putting together a squeeze page. Make sure your consumer knows what they should do. Make the opt-in page prominent and above the fold.

3) Great Reason to Subscribe

Give visitors a really good reason to opt into your list. Provide a really good report, ebook, product review, the list could go on. The offer should be targeted at what your visitors will find useful.

4) Testimonials

Humans are always looking for social proof. If we see other people rave about the benefits of something, we are more like to decide upon that action. If you can generate some testimonials for the squeeze page. This will certainly increase your conversion rates.

What Not To Do

1) Hide Your Headline

If a visitor has to read through a lot of text on the squeeze page before finding out why they should opt in, then conversion rates are going to be low.

2) Hide the Opt in box

As mentioned above. This is the most important area of the page, make sure the consumer is aware of it.

3) Nothing For The User

Users are constantly being asked for their email details. If you don't have something of value to offer, they will not hand them over.
