Introduction to Photoshop
Monday, 11 September 2006

Image This is the basic introduction to Photoshop.  Starting the software, opening your file and finding your way around.  Easy stuff, and takes the sting out of using 'heavyweight' software.  If you have never seen Photoshop before, never used it but hear dof it... this is where you need to start.

I will be working with the template files you can download form here, so don't worry you will have the files you need.  I take it real slow and easy, so if you already know the basics of Photoshop, you can probably skip these.

Editing Your Template Images
Monday, 11 September 2006

Image OK, this is a little more advanced.  I try to keep this as SIMPLE as possible, so all you Photoshop experts back off.  It may not be the right way or the most advanced, but for the people who are just starting out this works just fine and gives a professional finish to the site.

An EASY tutorial if you take your time and follow my steps.  Replay as often as you like!

I take you through editing the background image AND the forground image of your HEADER, not the background of the template (please note).  Add this to changing the colors and you can DRAMATICALLY alter the look and feel of your template.

Slices, Optimizing and Exporting Your Images!
Monday, 11 September 2006
Image Slices are the small lines on the Photoshop image which tell the program where to 'cut' your image into small files.  Those small files are then imbedded into Dreamweaver html code to create the template you work with.

So, this tutorial is about how to use the slices, to export out new images based on your design.  So all you have to do is overwrite the existing ones, and voila!  New website!

So easy, for such a complex subject!
