OK, so I hope you haven't already purchased your domain name. I usually recommend for people to buy their domains at the END of the production process. usually, a persons product/offer/service/JV changes so much that what they thought they were going to launch ends up being completely different.
If you have, no matter, you will find this section useful anyway. Or you can skip to the Nameserver section, Hosting section or other.
Incidentally I use GoDaddy.com to manage my domains, and have done for years. I have never had a problem with them and I don't hesitate to recommend them to you. |

Setting up Hosting can make or break your account. DO NOT GO FOR THE CHEAPEST you can afford. Cheap does NOT mean GOOD... or even adequate!
PLEASE take my experience of 8 years building sites and working on hundreds of different servers, and make sure you get hosting that will provide EVERYTHING! |

Your 'nameservers' are the directional tools used to point the internet to your domain name. It is the link between the domain and the hosting, and without themyou simply don't exist on the net. Widely regarded the realm of the webmaster, I walk you through this inside secret so you can manage your own domain, set it up on your own hosting, set your nameservers, and appear on the net! It's almost magic! |

File Transfer Protocol (FTP) is the fancy name given to 'sending your files to the internet'. Basically. FileZilla is the program I use to do this task, and it is a walk in the park. Transferring your files is a serious matter though, choose the wrong transfer method and your files will look like swiss cheese in the browser! I show you how to setup your local files, your remote files, what transfer settings you need and what to watch out for. Just the basics. |
