Joomla CMS logoJoomla CMS is simply the BEST solution for setting up your content-based website.  Period!  If you need to make changes or updates to your site on a regular basis, and can't be bothered with all that HTML work, then you should be looking at a Content Management System.

Joomla leads the field in this area - AND IT'S FREE - so it is definitely time you checked it out.

Don't let the PHP fool you, this is simple to install, and may even be part of your hosting package already!  HostGator provides the latest version of Joomla in each hosting package, so installing is as simple as a few clicks.

Watch these tutorials, and get up to speed on the new way to build content-based mini sites!

PLEASE BE AWARE:

I did not record these videos, they were recorded in England.  The videos are in regular Camtasia format, but not the large sizes I record in, so they are smaller.

They will take longer to laod, so be patient.

They also vary in sound quality - so you will need to adjust your speakers for each one.

A couple of years ago I was very interested in Joomla as it seemed to have everything I needed from a free CMS. It is fairly difficult to learn how to use, but there were plenty of templates available and of good quality too.

However when I tried to use it one a shared hosting account the loading times were extremely slow, in excess of 30 seconds. I also noticed this on many other Joomla-based sites.

I decided not to use it for this reason.

Maybe it runs faster on a non-shared hosting package but I prefer Wordpress now for its overall ease of use and quick loading times.
