How to Create a Name Squeeze Page
Tuesday, 12 August 2008

Due to the amount of interest we've had of late in squeeze pages, we've decided to re-publish this tutorial.

Dreamweaver Tutorial imageA brief overview of how I setup a regular namesqueeze page.  No graphics in this one, just html and super simple.

Obviously, work with your own copy as I am NOT a copywriter, just a web designer.  But the steps are basically the same.

What Makes a Great Sales Letter
Wednesday, 14 May 2008

Many of you will have a great idea or product and need to get it from idea to money maker. In order to do this, you will need the following:

1. A great template

We firmly believe at EzMiniSites.com that the template you use has the greatest affect on your sales. As we spoke about in our last blog entry, your sales letter is your virtual sales representative. Just like you wouldn't buy from a sales persons who turned up in rags, you (and your customers) are very unlikely to purchase anything from a ragged site.

We've studied in depth the templates that work and spend quite a long time researching what sells/converts best. There are cerain structures which work well, colours that sell and fonts that attract. While we could go into this in much more depth, and no doubt will in another article, it is suffice to say that we have done the work for you.

Of course you are always welcome to develop your own template, do your own due dilligence, usability testing, split testing and analysis on what works and what doesn't. The question is.... Are you in the business of creating templates or creating sales? My advice is to have a look at our templates and see which one suits you.

2. The ability to write good sales copy

This often puts a look of pure fear in folks eyes, and can often.....  Read More >

Your Sales Letter is Your Sales Person
Friday, 09 May 2008

Hi All,

Something which may sound obvious, but is perhaps not thought of enough: Your online sales letter is your virtual sales person. Your sales letter does all the selling on your behalf to your prospects.

Unlike conventional (offline) and direct marketing businesses, there is no need for you to train and recruit multiple sales people.

All your efforts should focus on creating a powerful sales letter that produces a minimum 2 to 4 percent conversion rate on your behalf, and better later on. In other words, for every 100 prospects that are referred to your web-page 2 to 4 of them will be your (convert to) customers.

After that, you just provide the marketing and draw in targeted prospects to visit your sales letter and it will do the selling to your prospects for you.

Your sales letter is like a personal letter from you to your prospect. In your letter you tell and convince your prospect to buy your product or access to service from you.

Ez Mini Sites is aimed at helping you in all aspects of this, from templates, tutorials, copy and much more.

Why Simple is Often Times Better
Monday, 21 January 2008

Hey all!

Many webmasters think that they have to go above and beyond the basics in order to achieve a high level of success. While there is nothing wrong with this, it is not a prerequisite to success. In fact, there are many cases in which simple is better than overdoing things. Of course, it is up to you to decide how far you should take your next website.

So why is simple better in some cases? First and foremost, there are some websites that do not require an over-the-top, complex design. For instance, if you are trying to sell a product such as an e-book, you do not want your sales page to be overwhelming. Instead, a simple template based design coupled with straight forward copy will be much more effective.

Additionally, some webmasters do not have the skills to design anything but the basic. While you will want to learn some skills along the way, there is nothing wrong with starting out at square one. There are thousands of simple, content based websites that make the owner thousands of dollars per month. Sure, an advanced design can help in some cases, but there is no saying that it is the end all.

If you believe in the “simple is better” mantra, you are not alone. All you need to start a new website is a quality template, and some words to go along with it. Luckily, you should be able to find both of these things for a relatively affordable price. From there, you will have a great site to promote. Believe it or not, you may profit much more from a basic site than one that takes hours on end and tons of money to develop.

Why Quality Copy is Important
Monday, 14 January 2008

This is a guest post from Chris Bibey from ChrisBlogging.com. Chris is a full-time freelance writer specializing in web copy, sales letters, and more.

The words that you use on your website will have a great effect on the success that you have. When it comes down to it, quality copy is every bit as important as a nice design and layout. In fact, many people will tell you that even a bad design can sell if you have the right words to go along with it.

Here are three reasons why you need to make sure that your website’s copy is as perfect as possible.

1. The words you use are the words that your audience is going to read. Although it may sound simple to write effective web copy, nothing could be further from the truth. If you do not carefully choose and arrange your words, success will not be easy.

2. If you are attempting to make a sale, the right words could be the only thing standing between success and failure. Think of yourself; when you buy something, you almost always read about it first, right? The words that you read either turn you on or off. To give yourself the best chance of success, make sure that you use killer copy!

3. Even if you do not make a sale the first time around, quality content will bring visitors back sooner rather than later. If a visitor does not understand what you are saying, they are not going to buy from you or visit your site again in the future.

As you can see, there are many reasons that quality copy is important. The bottom line is that better content will give you a higher chance of success. And when running any type of website, success is probably first and foremost in your mind!

Your Website’s Design and Copy
Thursday, 10 January 2008

Hey Gang!

Are you interested in starting your own website? Do you already have a website, but want to freshen it up a bit? If so, there are two important features that you need to consider before anything else.

First off, the design of your website is very important. This is not to say that you need to spend thousands of dollars on a professional design, but you do need to make sure that you are using a clean, organized, easy to navigate layout. If you miss out in any of these areas, you may be scaring away potential buyers. And when you do this, you are only hurting yourself. Believe it or not, a simple website template is a great place to start. By using one of these you will know what you are getting, and can be rest assured that it has plenty to offer.

The other feature to consider is the words that you use on your site. Remember, the internet is fueled mostly by content. If you do not say the right things in the right way, you are not going to get very far. For most webmasters, writing copy is the most difficult part of their job. Is this the way that you feel? If so, you will want to consider hiring a professional copywriter. Sure, you will have to pay for their services, but in the end you will be happy with the results. Remember, poorly written copy is going to reflect negatively on your site. This will lead to putting visitors off, and harming your chances of success.

When starting a website, you need to consider both the layout and content. If you take both of these elements seriously, you are sure to be on your way to success. By using a simple template and hiring a copywriter, you can get past these steps soon enough. From there, it is up to you to monetize your site the best way you know how!
